Gardening Education

seminars

Seminars provide members and the local community with information about all aspects of gardening in the Sonoran desert.  If you are interested in growing your own food, growing local landscape plants, designing your own landscape with native plants or are just interested in what grows in this area- these seminars are worth attending.  The speakers also provide information about wildlife and other topics of interest.

Seminars support the mission of the Green Valley Gardeners by developing and continuing education, demonstrations and projects for the gardening public, including the promotion of the use of arid land plants and the conservation of water.

Our seminars are held each month from October to mid-April.  Most are held at Desert Hills Recreation Center located at  2980 S. Camino del Sol.  The doors open at 9:00 with the seminar starting at 9:30.   People are encouraged to come early to socialize and enjoy a light snack and beverage.

Announcement of the seminar date, location and topic is in the monthly Sand & Seeds news letter along with The Green Valley News, in the Sunday addition prior to the the Thursday seminar.
